Doug Wagner and Daniel Hillyard teaming up again is basically a guaranteed buy for us. We love their work on Plastic and Plush, and more recently I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer, which we reviewed here on the blog. Their mix of dark humor, unsettling horror, and deeply strange characters always lands for us, so seeing something new from them feels like a real treat.

Narco is a five issue mini series coming from Image Comics in March 2026 and the story sounds just as sharp and original as we hoped. It follows Marcus, a man whose narcolepsy causes him to black out during moments of excitement. When he witnesses a murder and loses consciousness, he wakes up as the main suspect. With gaps in his memory and his own body working against him, he has to piece together what happened and find the real killer… before he blacks out again.

What really pulls us in this time is how much this sounds like a psychological nightmare built around tension and paranoia. The idea of chasing the truth while knowing your mind might shut down at the worst possible moment feels terrifying in a very grounded way. It also sounds like the kind of story where Wagner and Hillyard can really play with mood, pacing, and those uncomfortable scenes they do so well.

Narco is already high on our 2026 list and feels like another chapter in a creative partnership we trust completely. Even without the synopsis, we would be there on day one, but after reading it, the excitement only doubled. One thing is for sure: we won’t sleep on this one.
