‘The Dogsitter’ Brings Love, Chaos, and Dogs this June

The Dogsitter is exactly the kind of lighter series we love to see pop up between all the horror and superhero reads. Let’s talk about this one.

Release date: June 3, 2026

The Dogsitter is written by Jamie S. Rich with art by Megan Levens. Jamie S. Rich is a major name in comics, with a long history as an editor at DC Comics, IDW Publishing, and now Ignition Press. On art, Megan Levens is someone we already really enjoy thanks to her work on several Star Trek series and also Starsigns, which we loved and are still waiting to see continue.

This book follows Gemma, a young woman trying to balance her life while taking a break from veterinary school. Between working at a flower shop and taking on dogsitting jobs, she is doing everything she can to stay afloat. Her situation gets more complicated through one of her most demanding clients, and when she meets Neal, what starts as a casual connection quickly turns into a messy love triangle that could throw her future completely off track.

After so many dark and intense reads, it feels refreshing to get something lighter, a summer rom com that still has personality and a bit of chaos. The dogsitting angle adds a fun twist, and the idea of seeing parts of the story through that perspective makes it even more appealing. We also love that the variant covers feature the artist’s own pets, which adds a really personal and charming touch to the whole project. Jamie S. Rich and Megan Levens have also worked together before on Ares & Aphrodite and Madame Frankenstein, so this is not their first time teaming up.

The Dogsitter is shaping up to be a fun, messy, and heartfelt read, and honestly, it is exactly the kind of series we want to mix into our pull list.
