A new year always feels like a reset button, and January is when publishers really start throwing bold ideas at the wall. New worlds, fresh spins on familiar characters, and a lot of genre blending are already lining up for 2026. These are the twelve series debuting in January that instantly caught our attention and earned a spot on our pull list.

Alice Forever After – BOOM! Studios
The story: Alice has been living a quiet life back in the real world with her daughter, but Wonderland is far from done with her. As that realm begins to decay, old choices and unfinished business come back in dangerous ways, this time threatening someone Alice loves even more than herself.
Why we’re intrigued: We’ve really enjoyed the previous Alice series, and this universe keeps finding smart, emotional ways to evolve.
Bloodland – Ignition Press
The story: America is falling apart politically, and vampires have decided now is the time to step in. Power struggles, corruption, and blood fueled alliances turn the country into a battleground, while a few determined figures try to push back against the nightmare taking shape.
Why we’re intrigued: Political horror is not something we see every day, and mixing it with vampires sounds dark, timely, and very different.
Holy Brawl – Keenspot
The story: An exorcism in Germany spirals into chaos when a priest with a violent past and very unconventional methods comes face to face with an ancient enemy.
Why we’re intrigued: Exorcism stories are one of our favorite horror subgenres, and blending that with action and comedy feels like a bold and fun gamble. Read more about it here!

Iron Man – Marvel Comics
The story: Tony Stark has cheated death before, but the fear of it never really leaves him. When new threats emerge and someone else starts asking the same dangerous questions he once did, Iron Man is forced to confront what comes next.
Why we’re intrigued: Iron Man runs can really go either way, but this setup feels tense and character driven enough to pull us in.
Knull – Marvel Comics
The story: The King in Black returns, weakened and imprisoned, but far from finished. Even stripped down to almost nothing, Knull proves that anything can be a weapon when revenge is the goal.
Why we’re intrigued: One of us is a huge Knull fan, and seeing him headline his own series feels long overdue. Plus, we always love seeing Hela involved.
Malevolent – Image Comics
The story: Decades after demons were unleashed onto the world, humanity has adapted in horrifying ways. Now a new weapon exists, one that can kill demons… assuming it does not turn on everyone first.
Why we’re intrigued: Sci-fi horror is one of those genres that can be incredible when done right, and this premise sounds crazy in the best way possible. Read more about it here!

The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town – Dynamite
The story: When Halloween and Christmas traditions start mixing, chaos is inevitable. A new creation named Shiver brings cuteness, cold, and trouble as Christmas Town experiences Halloween for the very first time.
Why we’re intrigued: This is the first comic set in the universe of a movie we simply love, so of course we’re in.
Psylocke: Ninja – Marvel Comics
The story: This series dives back into a crucial chapter of Betsy Braddock’s past, exploring her transformation, her sacrifices, and the forces that shaped her into a deadly weapon.
Why we’re intrigued: It’s a piece of Psylocke’s history we’re very curious to explore.
Rogue – Marvel Comics
The story: Life with Gambit might look peaceful, but Rogue’s past refuses to stay buried. Old sins, old faces, and hard choices come crashing back into her carefully built present.
Why we’re intrigued: We’re always here for a solo run starring one of our favorite X-Men. Read more about it here!

Sai: Dimensional Rivals – Marvel Comics
The story: Sai travels across dimensions, meeting alternate versions of her world and herself. Each issue brings a new artistic voice into the mix, turning the series into a true collaboration across styles and perspectives
Why we’re intrigued: We are huge Momoko fans, and this sounds like a celebration of art and creativity as much as story. Read more about it here!
Spirit of the Shadows – Oni Press
The story: Once a musician, now a cursed phantom, Erik Leroux fights his way through the Spirit World to uncover who he was, what he lost, and who is responsible for his fate.
Why we’re intrigued: It sounds intense and emotional, blending horror, action, and tragedy into one big supernatural mix. Read more about it here!
Touched by a Demon – Dark Horse Comics
The story: A washed-up demon named Bifrons tries to earn his way out of Hell by becoming a life coach on Earth, helping humans make better choices while questioning whether redemption is even possible for someone like him.
Why we’re intrigued: That mix of humor, heart, and horror could make this one stand out in a big way. Read more about it here!
January 2026 already looks packed with ambition and weird ideas, and we’re totally here for it. If this is how the year starts, we’re very curious to see how far comics are willing to go next!
