Dark Horse Comics is starting the year 2026 with something that feels both hilarious and heartfelt. Touched by a Demon, a new four-issue horror-comedy from Kristen Gudsnuk, arrives on January 21, 2026.

The story centers on Bifrons, a washed-up demon who once lived in Heaven but now finds himself stuck in Hell. Desperate for redemption, he sets up shop on Earth as a life coach, hoping that enough good deeds will get him back upstairs. With the help of his quirky assistant Zuzu and a lost soul named Elaine, he tries to guide mortals toward salvation… even if he’s not exactly the most qualified for the job.

We’re especially excited about this one because horror-comedy is such a rare combo in comics, and this series sounds like it has both laughs and some surprisingly thoughtful depth. It’s written and illustrated by Kristen Gudsnuk and we’re not familiar with her work yet, so that makes this debut even more intriguing.

What really has us curious is the balance of tones. The setup promises goofy demon antics, but the idea of redemption and self-discovery suggests something a little deeper beneath the comedy. That mix of humor, heart, and horror could make Touched by a Demon stand out in a big way. Also, the cover (also by Kristen Gudsnuk!) has a playful, fun vibe that already makes us want to pick it up.

Touched by a Demon #1 hits comic shops on January 21, 2026. We’ll be watching this one closely as it just might end up being one of the year’s most unexpectedly fun reads.
