‘Yuletide’ Unwraps a Dark Holiday Tale

A new holiday horror adventure is arriving this October, and it’s looking anything but merry. Yuletide, a three-issue comic series, dives headfirst into the dark, mythic side of Christmas that most people prefer to ignore… we don’t.

Yuletide #1
Publisher: Oni Press
Writer: George Northy
Artist: Rachele Aragno
Colorist: Michelle Madsen
Release date: October 15, 2025

The series is written by George Northy and illustrated by Rachele Aragno, and it’s set in Christmas, Pennsylvania, a town obsessed with putting on the biggest and brightest holiday celebration in the country. But behind the lights and cheer, something older and darker is lurking. When three teens dig into the eerie legends buried under all the festive décor, they awaken a force long thought banished. Ancient monsters tied to the holiday’s forgotten pagan roots are about to make a comeback, and they’re not here for hot cocoa.

As massive Christmas fans, we’re thrilled about this one. The combination of cozy traditions and ancient folklore is exactly the kind of twisted holiday magic we love. Give us glowing lights, snowy streets, and then throw in monstrous rituals from the shadows of history, we’re fully in. This goes perfectly with our favorite kind of Winter nights: a Hallmark movie followed by some killer Santa movie. Even more exciting? A movie adaptation is already in the works, so this comic could be the beginning of something even bigger…

We’ll be picking up the first issue of Yuletide as soon as it hits shelves on October 15, just in time to start unwrapping the season early.
