The New Space Age #1 launches from Mad Cave Studios in December. Let’s talk about it and see why we’re excited about this one.

The New Space Age #1
Publisher: Mad Cave Studios
Writer: Kenny Porter
Artist: Mike Becker
Colorist: Kevin Betou
Letterer: Buddy Beaudoin
Release date: December 17, 2025
The story follows disgraced astronaut Mark Mitchell, who has spent his life trying to find his little brother Joey, abducted by aliens when they were kids. When his reckless piloting ends his career and the last public space program is shut down, his dream of searching the stars is over. Until he discovers the truth about crop circles. They are not warnings but instructions for a new kind of space travel…
That idea alone makes The New Space Age sound like something different. It’s a mix of sci-fi and the supernatural that asks a powerful question: how far would you go to save the person you love? It’s the kind of story that makes you think about what you would do in the same situation, and we love that.
Written by Kenny Porter (Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow, The Schlub) with art by Mike Becker, this five-issue series already feels like one to keep an eye on. We enjoyed Porter’s work on Superboy and are excited to see him explore something bigger, stranger, and more emotional here.
Sci-fi comics aren’t as common as they should be, and when one promises this kind of heart and mystery, it instantly gets our attention. The New Space Age might just be the next series that reminds us why we love getting lost among the stars.
