Did You Hear About Mimi Green? feels like it is tapping into something uncomfortable in a really interesting way. Let’s talk about this book!

Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Writer: Connor Goldsmith
Artist: Josh Cornillon
Letterer: Ariana Maher
Release date: May 27, 2026
The series is written by Connor Goldsmith with art by Josh Cornillon. This is not a creative team we are familiar with, but that actually adds to the appeal here, it feels like stepping into something new without knowing exactly what to expect.
The story follows Mimi Green, a successful online personality whose carefully built image starts to collapse when an old, harmful post resurfaces. As everything spirals, she retreats to a wellness retreat to escape the backlash, but what she finds there is far from peaceful. The place begins to shift into something darker, almost unreal, where people like her are forced to confront themselves in ways that feel more like punishment than healing. At the same time, someone from her past might be the only person who can actually reach her.
What really pulls us in is how original this sounds. It is not just horror for the sake of it, it feels like it is trying to say something. Themes like public image, accountability, and self perception mixed with something surreal and violent is a combination we do not see that often in comics. Add to that an LGBTQ angle that seems to be part of the emotional core of the story, and this becomes even more interesting for us. We love horror that takes risks and explores uncomfortable ideas, and this feels like it could do exactly that. It is strange, it is timely, and it feels like it might actually stick with us after reading.
Did You Hear About Mimi Green? is set to release as a four issue series, the first one on May 27, and this is definitely one we will be keeping an eye on.
