Death Dog #1
Publisher: Ahoy Comics
Writer: Bryce Ingman
Interior & Cover Artist: Alan Robinson
Release date: November 5, 2025
The story follows Wyatt, a 13-year-old wrongly accused of shoplifting and hunted by deadly robotic dogs. But things take a surprising turn when one of these relentless machines transforms into something new: a loyal, protective robodog who bonds with Wyatt and becomes his fiercest ally in a world that has abandoned kids like him. Equal parts heartfelt and twisted, it sounds like a fresh spin on the “boy and his dog” story.
We’re always in for comics that feel different, and Death Dog definitely seems to fit the bill. Plus, we have a soft spot for any story that features pets, even if this one is not your typical furry friend. A robotic pet protector with a dangerous past? That’s the kind of strange premise we love to explore in comics. We’re also not too familiar with this creative team, which just makes us more curious to see how they handle such a mix of heart and dark sci-fi.
Death Dog #1 arrives on November 5. It promises a story that is terrifying and soulful, and we can’t wait to discover how this deadly robodog becomes one of the most unusual comic pets of the year.
