DSTLRY, that always delivers original and high-quality series, recently announced Knife, a new series out in April. Let’s find out together why this is a must-buy.

Knife
Publisher: DSTLRY
Writer: Miles Gunter
Cover Artist & Interior: Patrick Mulholland
Colorist: Tríona Farrell
Release date: April 26, 2025 (Issue 1)
DSTLRY series are always comics I look forward to. The creative teams are top-notch and I simply love how original and amazing their stories are. This time, we have Miles Gunter as a writer, who worked on B.P.R.D. or Dark Fang. I am not familiar with his work yet, so I’m quite curious. For the art, we have Patrick Mulholland, which I know from some great issues of Power Rangers – and I can’t wait to see him in a different kind of comics here!
Knife follows Paige Russell, whose first day as a yoga instructor is derailed when an ancient, cursed blade crashes into her life, seizing control of anyone who wields it and turning them into brutal killers. Against all odds, Paige resists its dark influence, but that only makes her a target for those who want the blade’s power. Now, with the help of Riva, a woman bent on revenge, Paige must face a deadly force that could possess anyone…
On top of this very intriguing synopsis, we also get, as often with DSTLRY, a gorgeous set of variant covers, quite different from each other. Here are Cover B by Patrick Mulholland, Cover C by Nicoletta Baldari and Cover D by Pernille Ørum. Let’s just say that I might get more than one cover for this first issue.

As a lifelong slasher fan, I’ve always been drawn to stories where the stakes aren’t just survival, but the constant battle for control over one’s own mind and actions. Knife intrigues me because it’s not just a story about a cursed weapon (even though that would probably be enough for me to be obsessed with this series), it’s about the unstoppable force of rage, and the psychological toll of resisting it. I can’t wait to see how Gunter and Mulholland explore the bloody consequences of such a terrifying concept, as the couple of pages that DSTLRY posted as a preview on their blog already got my full attention.
If you love horror, action and the prestige format that DSTLRY offers, I believe you found yourself a great new series. April 26, Issue 1 – don’t forget the date.
