‘Nectar’ Has the Kind of Imagery We Love

·

The moment we saw Nectar announced, the imagery alone was enough to completely pull us in.

Cover Artist: Chris Shehan
Release date: March 4, 2026

Nectar is written by Jeremy Robinson with art by Annapaola Martello and Francesco Francini, with colors by Steve Canon. We are not familiar with their previous work, but that honestly adds to the appeal. Going into a horror series without expectations can be incredibly exciting, especially when the concept and visuals are already doing so much of the talking.

The story is set in a small island village near Salem, Massachusetts, where a strange swarm of butterflies appears and brings something deeply wrong with it. These creatures spread a violent dancing plague and feed on human blood, turning something delicate and beautiful into a source of terror. That contrast instantly hooked us and made this feel like horror that is kind of unsettling.

What really sold us is how twisted this sounds on paper. Blood drinking butterflies, uncontrollable movement, and a historical setting already suggest a story that could get very dark and very strange, which is exactly what we are hoping for. The premise alone feels like the kind of horror that lingers and gets under your skin.

The main cover art also deserves special mention. It looks absolutely stunning and disturbing at the same time, and the incentive covers that were revealed only pushed our curiosity even further. There is already a very strong visual identity here, and the imagery feels confident and bold. I mean, look at that!

Nectar is set to release on March 4, 2026, and between the premise, the atmosphere, and the visuals, this already feels like one of those horror books that will totally surprise us in the best way.
