‘Flow’ Is a New Horror Comic About Revenge and Blood

Written by:

Mad Cave Studios has recently revealed Flow, a new four-issue horror comic launching in September and, as always with this publisher, it sounds amazing.

Flow #1
Publisher: Mad Cave Studios
Writer: Paula Sevenbergen
Interior Artist: Claudia Balboni
Cover Artist: Aneke Murillenem
Colorist: Fabi Marques
Letterer: Jodie Troutman
Release date: September 17, 2025

Written by Paula Sevenbergen, with art by Claudia Balboni (whose work we loved in Killer Queens), this one promises supernatural horror, revenge, and some seriously raw energy. The concept is unsettling in the best way.

At Nature Camp, Dara Lund thought she was dying when blood ran down her legs. Her bunkmates called it “the Curse” and told her they could lift it… if she did everything they said. What followed was a brutal week of torment. Ten years later, those same girls are cursed in return. Convinced Dara is behind it, they reunite to track her down and stop whatever horror she’s set in motion.

We’re getting all the right vibes here. The writer said in an interview that it’s a bit like Carrie with Yellowjackets intensity (minus the annoying character of Shauna, hopefully!), mixed with something deeper and more personal. A feminist horror with blood, shame and guilt? We are so in! We’re not familiar with the writer yet, which honestly makes it even more exciting. And the preview pages are looking great already.

Flow #1 hits comic shops and digital platforms on September 17, 2025, and we’ll definitely be grabbing a copy the moment it drops. And you should do definitely the same!
