Launching from the combined chaos of DC Comics and Dynamite Entertainment, this upcoming series pairs Harley Quinn, the Cupid of Crime, with Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, for what sounds like the most unhinged Halloween party comic books have ever seen. And it’s in the best possible hands: the creative team is Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, who pretty much defined Harley’s modern voice during their iconic runs in the 2010s.

The story? Elvira’s beloved horror host show is in danger of being cancelled after a corporate shakeup, and she’s desperate to save it. Lucky for her, she crosses paths with Harley, who’s got a plan… Together, the two decide to throw the ultimate Halloween bash in Brooklyn, whether the locals are ready or not. Expect absurdity, bloodshed, fourth-wall-breaking mayhem, and enough one-liners to fill a haunted funhouse.

We’re genuinely excited about this one. While we haven’t been keeping up with the current Harley Quinn ongoing, we’ve been big fans of Elvira’s recent comic adventures, Elvira in Horrorland and Elvira in Monsterland were smart, hilarious, and way more twisted than we expected. Seeing her team up with Harley? It’s something we didn’t even think to wish for, and now it feels like we needed it all along.

The creative team’s return to Harley, combined with Elvira’s streak of horror-comedy brilliance, already feels like a perfect match. Plus, the variant covers that were revealed are everything. I mean, look at that!
