As you know by now, we are huge fans of horror and of James Tynion IV’s work. That’s why this news has us beyond excited: Exquisite Corpses, a new series from Tynion and Michael Walsh, is set to drop next May!

Exquisite Corpses #1
Publisher: Image Comics
Writers: James Tynion IV, Michael Walsh
Cover & Interior Artist: Michael Walsh
Colorist: Jordie Bellaire
Release date: May 14, 2025
This one promises to be a bloody ride with a concept reminiscent of The Purge, a franchise that we simply love. And if you’re a fan of Walsh’s The Silver Coin, you already know the level of horror artistry we’re in for! He was great at illustrating horror stories from many different writers in that anthology series, so we know this is gonna be extremely good!
The premise is darkly simple and wildly effective: every five years on Halloween, 12 of the deadliest people in the world are dropped into a small town. Their mission? Be the last killer standing. The unlucky town this year is Oak Valley, Maine, and its citizens are just trying to survive the night.
We’re especially thrilled because this first 13-issue season brings together a stacked lineup of comics talent. Besides Tynion and Walsh, we’ll get contributions from creators like Pornsak Pichetshote (The Good Asian), Valentine De Landro (Bitch Planet), and more. They’ll all work together to see whose characters will make it out alive. We love this mix of collaboration and chaos, and it’s got “horror event of the year” written all over it.
If that wasn’t enough, Issue #1 is set to be a 60-page, double-length issue and will feature amazing variant covers as you can see below!

Exquisite Corpses launches May 14, and it’s not just another comic series, it’s shaping up to be a horror event we’ll be talking about for a long time. And once again… we can’t wait for it!
