It’s been five months since the release of Issue #0 and seven months since we got our hands on Issue #40, but the wait is almost over! Something is Killing the Children is returning with Issue #41 this April, and we are ready for it!

We’ve been following this series from the very start. Yes, even though our Issue #1 isn’t a first print, it still holds a special place in our collection. Honestly, Something is Killing the Children was one of the comics that pulled me into the comics world, so it’s hard to overstate just how important this series has been to me. The writing is always sharp, and the last arc was a collection of perfect standalone adventures that gave us a deeper look at Erica Slaughter’s psyche. I love this character so much. This new arc promises to dive even deeper into her past, especially her training in the House of Slaughter. We’re about to see Erica face more deadly hunts alongside her mentor, Jessica, and the introduction of Cecilia promises to add even more layers to the story.

The return of Erica’s origin story is something I’ve been waiting for. As James Tynion IV put it in the official return announcement, “This is not a story with a happy ending. But it’s a story that needs to be told.” I’m ready for the emotional ride, and from what Werther Dell’Edera says, I think we’ll all need a box of tissues.

As usual, we will get to choose between several gorgeous covers, and a few of them have already been revealed! Especially loving the Miguel Mercado variant.

April 2nd can’t definitely come soon enough!
