Spirit of the Shadows is a five-issue superhero-horror story written by Daniel Ziegler and Nick Cagnetti, with Cagnetti also handling the art. The series follows Erik Leroux, a musician who dies and finds himself reborn in the Spirit World. Transformed into a phantom haunted by flashes of his former life, he sets out to uncover the truth behind his death… and face the sins that turned him into what he’s become.

This one instantly caught our attention. It sounds intense and emotional, blending horror, action, and tragedy in one big, supernatural mix. There’s revenge, redemption, and surreal imagery all wrapped into one haunting story, which feels like it could go in a lot of different directions. And the visuals? Absolutely incredible. The art and color work by Cagnetti look wild, vibrant yet haunting, with a mix of retro and dreamlike energy that’s hard to look away from. You can check out a few preview pages here.
