‘Strange Tales’ Brings Spells, Dice, and Chaos

Marvel just revealed Strange Tales, a new four-issue magical miniseries starting this October, and we’re already counting down.

Strange Tales #1
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Writer: Jeremy Whitley
Artist: Bayleigh Underwood
Release date: October 8, 2025

The series is written by Jeremy Whitley and illustrated by Bayleigh Underwood, and honestly, it sounds like pure fun. Think chaotic magic, RPG mishaps, and some of our favorite characters in the Marvel Universe.

Scarlet Witch, Nico Minoru, Wiccan, Hulkling… this is the kind of lineup we dream about. The setup? It kicks off on Halloween night with an RPG gone wrong, sending Nico on a wild run through New York with real goblins, a dragon, and more danger straight out of the game. Eventually, she finds Wanda at the edge of the magical world, and the two of them team up to fix whatever just tore reality open.

We’re especially excited because we love this kind of story! Magical adventures that don’t take themselves too seriously but still go hard on character and emotion? Give it to us! Plus, anything that mixes superhero drama with tabletop RPG chaos is an instant yes for us. Between the spellcasting, queer icons (OK, Hulkling & Wiccan are just supporting characters here, but still), and wild magical creatures, Strange Tales looks like a blast we wouldn’t miss for anything. And we’re really glad it’s a full four-issue miniseries. Usually, stories like this get squeezed into a one-shot, so it’s nice to see it get room to breathe.

We’re absolutely ready to roll the dice on this one when Strange Tales #1 hits shelves this October.
