A new kind of undead story is coming this fall with Everything Dead & Dying, and we can’t wait to read it! Here’s why.

Everything Dead & Dying #1
Publisher: Image Comics
Writer: Tate Brombal
Interior & Cover Artist: Jacob Phillips
Release date: September, 3, 2025
Everything Dead & Dying is a five-issue horror-western miniseries launching in September from Image Comics and Tiny Onion. Written by Tate Brombal (House of Slaughter, The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos) with art by Jacob Phillips (That Texas Blood), this one already has our full attention.
Set in a quiet rural town after the world has crumbled, Everything Dead & Dying follows Jack Chandler, a lone survivor who’s managed to build a quiet, haunting existence surrounded by the undead… including his husband and adopted daughter. But when outsiders stumble onto his isolated community, the delicate balance he’s created is shattered, forcing Jack to defend his family one last time.
We’re always up for a new take on zombies, and this one feels like something we haven’t seen before. A farming town, a queer protagonist, a story that sounds as tender as it is terrifying: this is exactly the kind of slow-burn horror we love. Plus, we’re huge fans of Tate Brombal’s writing from House of Slaughter and Christopher Chaos, and we’re very curious to see what he and Jacob Phillips build together here.
Everything Dead & Dying #1 hits comic shops on September 3, 2025, and you’d better be ready for it.
