July 2025 is absolutely stacked, and choosing just 12 debut comic series this month was once again not easy. From long-awaited returns to wild new indie ideas, the creativity is overflowing. There’s a little horror, a little heart, some cosmic monsters, and way too many comics we want to read all at once.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring – IDW Publishing
The story: A decade after her quiet killing spree, Samantha the serial killer bear faces a new threat: justice in the age of the internet.
Why we’re intrigued: We loved the first series like everyone else (what do you mean you haven’t read it yet?!), and we’re thrilled it’s back for more unbearably cute carnage. Read more about it here!
Catacomb of Torment – Oni Press (EC Comics)
The story: Straight from the pages of Epitaphs from the Abyss comes Catacomb of Torment, where a sadistic new horror host called The Tormentor delivers a dark, disturbing tale of anatomy, agony, and absolute carnage.
Why we’re intrigued: This spun out of one of a horror anthology we’ve been enjoying a lot, and it’s already looking very unhinged. That cover alone is nightmare fuel.
Fantastic Four – Marvel Comics
The story: The team is back in a brand-new #1, and flung into four different time periods after a clash with Doctor Doom goes terribly wrong. Their only hope to reunite? A mysterious stone that exists throughout Earth’s history.
Why we’re intrigued: It’s a fresh volume, but Ryan North is staying on as writer, and his run has been brilliant so far. We’re ready for more. Read more about it here!

Ghost Pepper – Image Comics
The story: In a world barely recovering from disaster, Loloi roams the roads serving up delicious meals, while dodging shady rivals and towering robot “protectors.” But when a mysterious, superpowered man named Ash appears, everything changes.
Why we’re intrigued: Food delivery meets post-apocalyptic action? The setup is wild and we’re hungry for more.
Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe – Marvel Comics
The story: The King of the Monsters tears through New York and beyond… and even Earth’s heroes and villains might not be enough to stop him.
Why we’re intrigued: Godzilla vs everyone is the kind of crossover chaos we live for. Marvel’s doomed and we can’t wait.
Look Into My Eyes – Mad Cave Studios
The story: A missing girl, a creepy app, and monsters with too many eyes… welcome to Cravenwood, where reality is glitching and horror spreads online.
Why we’re intrigued: A horror mystery with QR code clues, creepy monsters, and a town hiding something rotten? We’re all in.

Lovestruck – AMP Comics
The story: Tris accidentally kills Cupid and must help people fall in love… or face jail for manslaughter. One problem: she doesn’t believe in love.
Why we’re intrigued: This sounds hilarious, heartfelt, and like nothing else on shelves right now. That’s a big yes from us!
Sisterhood: A Hyde Street Story – Image Comics
The story: After her best friend Violet drowns during a college sorority hazing, Sophie turns to the psychic Sister Hood to reach her beyond the grave. But on Hyde Street, getting what you wish for always comes with a deadly price.
Why we’re intrigued: Horror, grief, and a deadly twist on friendship and loss… this sounds like exactly our kind of nightmare.
Six Shots – Bliss on Tap Publishing
The story: A grieving father makes a deal with the Devil: send five souls to Hell and he’ll get a shot at the man who killed his family.
Why we’re intrigued: A revenge story with a literal deal with the Devil? We’re in, especially when it’s loaded with dark choices and supernatural consequences.

Texarcanum – Dark Horse Comics
The story: In the supernatural heartland of America, cowboy arcanist Avery Belle roams a landscape haunted by ghosts, demons, angels, and legends from across the world.
Why we’re intrigued: Horror noir in the mystic Midwest? Sounds weird, gritty, and exactly our vibe.
This Ends Tonight – Image Comics
The story: Assassins. Secrets. Revenge. Vegas. A brutal new action saga kicks off with two sisters and a family legacy soaked in blood.
Why we’re intrigued: This one promises nonstop suspense and pure action! Read more about it here!
The UnChosen – Image Comics
The story: After a devastating explosion levels a city, 13-year-old Aida wakes up at the center of the destruction… and it’s something she caused. Now, hunted by powerful rival forces, she must unravel the truth about her past and who she can trust.
Why we’re intrigued: It’s giving dark X-Men energy; mysterious powers, secret pasts, and a young girl on the run from forces that want to control her? Yes please.
