Marvel and DC both dropped official news, and even though we don’t usually dive deep into DC comics, this is one of those rare moments that has us genuinely excited.

Deadpool/Batman #1 & Batman/Deadpool #1
Publishers: Marvel Comics & DC Comics
Writers: Zeb Wells & Grant Morrison
Interior & Covers Artists: Greg Capullo & Dan Mora
Release dates: September 17, 2025 & November 2025
Batman and Deadpool are teaming up (or clashing, or whatever it is they’ll do) in not one but two upcoming one-shot comics. The first arrives in September from Marvel (Deadpool/Batman #1) and the second follows in November from DC (Batman/Deadpool #1). Each issue is being handled by some pretty major names. The Marvel release is written by Zeb Wells with art by Greg Capullo, and the DC follow-up comes from none other than Grant Morrison and Dan Mora.
Even for those of us who don’t follow DC religiously, it’s impossible to ignore how legendary this crossover feels. These aren’t just two random characters meeting in a gimmicky team-up, it’s Batman and Deadpool!!. Two icons with completely different energies, jammed into the same panels by writers and artists who know how to make it explode.
What makes this especially cool is how each publisher is doing their own version of the story, with their own tone and creators. That’s a smart way to highlight how differently both companies approach comics, while still letting them play in each other’s universes. Plus, both issues will include backup stories with surprise character matchups from Marvel and DC. We don’t know who else is showing up yet, but it already feels like something we’re going to need to read more than once.
Grant Morrison alone would get us to pick this up. He’s done some of the most unforgettable work on X-Men and Batman over the years, and with Dan Mora (who’s been knocking everything out of the park lately), this has serious potential to be something strange, sharp, and hilarious. As for Zeb Wells and Capullo? That’s another powerhouse combo on the Marvel side.
So yeah, this crossover is big. A real “pause everything else” kind of event. And with these creative teams? It’s almost guaranteed to be unforgettable. This is just the start of another rare Marvel/DC collaboration and we can’t wait to read the future announcements! And also to see the variant covers for these issues, because there will definitely be some big names on these too!
