BOOM! Studios is back at it again with another promising horror series, BE NOT AFRAID, launching this June.

BOOM! Studios have been consistently delivering killer original horror stories, and this one has all the right ingredients for something special. The series is written by Jude Ellison S. Doyle, whose The Neighbors was a great horror series that left us wishing for more. And with Lisandro Estherren on art, who did an amazing job on The Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country, we’re expecting some hauntingly beautiful visuals.

BE NOT AFRAID promises a twisted blend of rural folk horror, religious dread, and cosmic terror. The story follows Cora Reims, a farm girl visited by a being of pure light who leaves her with a child, one that grows up to be something much darker than his angelic origins suggest. Seventeen years later, Cora must confront the horror her child has become… and the whole town is terrified!

It sounds dark, brutal, and absolutely monstrous. And knowing how Doyle can weave compelling, disturbing tales, this one is clearly a must-read for us. The first few pages are also available on the announcement article from BOOM!, and it looks extremely creepy, which is very promising!

June is gonna be terrifying and we cannot wait to start reading this! But we can’t promised we will BE NOT AFRAID…
