If you’re a fan of Godzilla and Marvel, Spring 2025 is going to be huge. Having lived in Japan and developed a deep love for the King of Monsters, I’m beyond excited for the upcoming six one-shot crossovers between Godzilla and Marvel’s biggest heroes. 

While we already knew about Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four (which was announced last December), the real excitement is in the recent reveals of Godzilla vs. Spider-Man and Godzilla vs. Hulk that Marvel just announced. And there are still three more mysteries to look forward to! The anticipation is real.

Before we dive into the stories, let’s talk about the Godzilla Variant Covers Marvel released in September and October 2024. To celebrate this collaboration with Toho International, Marvel dropped 21 stunning covers featuring Godzilla towering over iconic Marvel characters like the Avengers, X-Men, Deadpool, and Spider-Man. The artwork is jaw-dropping, and I couldn’t help but obsess over these epic previews for the battles to come. Ok, if I had to choose my favourites, here they are: Dazzler #1 by Elizabeth Torque, X-Men #4 by Chris Samnee and Venom #37 by Dave Wachter.

As for the one-shots themselves, Godzilla vs. Hulk is going to be pure chaos. Gerry Duggan and Giuseppe Camuncoli are bringing the heat for this showdown, with Hulk’s anger facing off against Godzilla’s unstoppable force. Then there’s Godzilla vs. Spider-Man, which has me especially hyped. Joe Kelly and Nick Bradshaw are delivering an ‘80s-inspired battle between Spidey and Godzilla in New York City. This has to be epic. And of course, Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four is still on my radar, written by Ryan North with art by John Romita Jr. I’m curious to see how Marvel’s First Family takes on the King of Monsters.

What I love is that these aren’t random matchups. These are writers who know their characters, blending the best of Marvel and Godzilla’s worlds. The covers are really cool – but I must say I will need to get the Lee Garbett Versus variants. Aren’t they the best?!

With so many exciting one-shots ahead, I’m counting down the days. Godzilla vs. the Avengers? Godzilla vs. She-Hulk? I’m here for all of it. This is going to be one of the most insane crossovers and I just can’t wait for it!
